Saturday, September 30, 2006    Fishermen from upstate reports that his Virginia Mullets are not as long as the ones he caught last year. He thinks the water is a bit too warm. Thursday, September 28, 2006    Fresh whole mullets arrived yesterday! We finished dressing last night. Mosquitoes are out. Black Drum and Spots are doing well in the morning and evenings. Friday, September 21, 2006     Yep! I have been occupied this past week. Spots are being caught all up and down the beach. Carolina Beach and Kure Beach Fishing Pier are having lots catches in the multi-dozens. Black Drum are running up to 4 pounds just north of the Blue Marlin Apartments. I got away for about 30 minutes on Wednesday. Along with biting flies, I caught a couple of Spot right-away. Biting-flies are out so use protections. Saturday, September 16, 2006    Black Drum and Spots are making the news. Several fishermen are coming in asking for more Shrimp. Fishermen fishing Kure Pier reported there were a few good runs. Friday, September 15, 2006    Yesterday, I was out of town most of the day finishing up some chorus. In Wilmington, it rain from 9:00 am till 7:30 pm, non-stop. Thursday, September 14, 2006    42 Spots were caught by one of our guest yesterday. He was using our fresh bait shrimp. For us, this is our first report of a small Spot Run. Fall officially starts next week. Kure Beach had several heavy rain showers during the night and mid-morning. Saturday, September 9, 2006    Fishing Reports were up today. Red Drum were caught here in town. Five pounder.  Sheephead disappoints one Mount Airy Fisherman. "Gilbert, fishermen all up and down the pier were saying 'that one would have gone more than 20 lbs'. Wish the line had not broke! I got it right up to the pilling". Bluefish 15 inches was caught on the south end in today. Live minnow was the bait of choice. Stay tuned!  Gasoline news:  $2.47 - 2.57  for regular. Monday, September 4, 2006     Labor Day.     We have a report of a fisherman catching ten Flounders off the Kure Beach Fishing Pier yesterday. Our Mud Minnows worked great he said. Five of the ten were keepers. Sunny weather had our beach pretty crowed yesterday. Today is the last day Kure Beach will have it lifeguards stations manned! Sunday, September 3, 2006     Happy B I G   5 0  birthday to someone special! ME! Thanks mom and dad for putting up with me for all these years. Many people from Wilmington are down on this beautiful Sunday. Kure Pier had a big crowed of folk on her deck last night. Surfers are having a good time with some nice 3 foot waves. Farmers coming in from Spivey's Corner, Kenansville and Pink Hill are reporting they had more rain during the tropic storm than Kure Beach. Stay tuned!  Gasoline news:  $2.52 - 2.65  for regular. Friday, September 1, 2006    Last night, around 10:30pm we did have some estimated winds at 48 mph. High winds lasted for about one hour.  I am not  exactly sure how much rain did fall. Fishermen are coming with great expectations. "With a strong surf like last night, hopefully something big out there and lots of it! " Reports are that all roads  (I-40, US 74,76 and17)  coming into Wilmington are open. Fort Fisher, Kure Beach and Carolina Beach have full access to Wilmington.
